Cob Houses

The two spacious earthen houses “Casa Branca” and “Imbondeiro” each have their own private area away from the other chalets and bungalows. They both have large windows and a front veranda with an open view to the lake and their own quiet beach area.

These recently-completed structures are built entirely from mud and straw, a technique Mbuna Bay has introduced in the area. Their thick white walls provide a pleasant balance between hot and cool temperatures.

The sleeping area and en suite bathrooms are tucked into the bush and “Imbondeiro” even has an outside shower and a stone bath tub directly at the foot of a huge baobab tree, providing guests with complete privacy but full access to nature.

Both houses are equipped with a luxurious King size bed, Scandinavian duvets and pillows, crisp white linen, large walk-in mosquito nets and locally handcrafted furniture.
